He trained with the foremost Tibetan Buddhist teachers for 30 years and has since, set up and managed centres and projects in the UK, Russia, Eastern and Western Europe.  He is a former engineer, music teacher, award winning musician & composer and has studied Tibetan Music, Lama Dance and Tibetan Temple Art with the renowned Tibetan Master Sherabpalden Beru.

Karma Jiga is currently completing an MSc in Teaching Mindfulness-Based Approaches at the world-renowned Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice (CMRP) at Bangor University in Wales and has studied with leading mindfulness experts and trainers including Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr Pamela Erdmann.

Research Interest
Investigation into the efficacy of delivering mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) courses which address the specific psychosocial needs of families living in poverty.

Maggie started her teaching career in primary education and is also a qualified music teacher and therapist, working with children of all ages. Although mainly based in the UK, Maggie’s experience extends to the USA, working in a Montessori School and gaining accreditation to teach Kindermusik, an Early Years music programme, setting up the first group in Scotland in the early 1990’s.

At present, Maggie works at Kingspark School, teaching children, aged 5-18, with a wide variety of special needs in creative sessions using traditional teaching methods and ground-breaking sound technology.

As a mindfulness teacher Maggie has studied with the Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice at Bangor University and also trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project team.
